BBQing is fun! And to keep enjoying it as long as possible make sure you prepare your grills and burners as best as you can, so they will last as long as possible. The next steps will show how you can enjoy your grills and burners as long as possible.
Preheat your kitchen oven to 135 to 175 ºC
First make sure you remove any possible residue from the manufacturer so it does not get stuck on to your grill rack. Do this by washing your grill with normal dish soap.
The next step is to coat your grill rack completely with vegetable oil, melted lard, or shortening. Then cover your grill rack with foil.
Place the grill rack in the pre-heated oven. You can put a foil-covered cookie sheet under the rack to catch any drippings. Let the grill rack bake for at least thirty minutes so the oil can season the iron.
Then remove the grill rack from the oven and let it cool. By repeating this process for at least two more times you create a dark finish on the grill rack. Each repetition of this process deepens the seasoning.
Place your grill on your BBQ the correct way and enjoy your BBQ sensations.
