Our Home BBQ range should reach at least 200C. For the best results, you should preheat your BBQ for at least 20 minutes.
If you are not able to get your temperature to 200C you can do the following to check if there are no gas (minor) leaks:
1. Apply a soap-and-water solution to each connection in the gas lines. Never use a match! (Mix one part of washing-up soap with three parts of water for the gas detection liquid)
2. Turn on the gas and look for bubbles.
3. If bubbles form, tighten the fitting slightly with a pipe wrench and recheck. Be sure to wipe off the old solution and apply a new round of the mixture.
It is important to know, that the temperature shown by the thermometer on the lid is not the same temperature as the surface temperature, this is at least 70C to 150C higher depending on the positioning.
